We are looking for our next Executive Director!

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:


Routine Responsibilities and Expectations
● Cancer is a scary and very emotional situation for most people. Patients and family members may be sad, scared, angry,
etc. Face-to-face interactions with patients and families suffering from the news, process, or loss from cancer is a regular
part of what the Executive Director is expected to be able to respond and cope with these situations.
● The intensity of dealing with people who are potentially in crisis (medically, financially, etc) can require a sound inner set
of communication and coping tools.
Leadership, Management, and Accountability
● Work with the Board of Directors to create and execute the organization’s strategic plan/vision.
● Develop and implement operational procedures, systems, and efficiencies, to strengthen Wellness Place organization and
financial foundation.
● Confidently be the face of the organization, leading and owning what needs to get done to keep the organization moving
forward.


Development/Fundraising
● Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan to increase Wellness Place revenue, including grants, foundation
support, corporate sponsorships, and gifts from individual donors.
● Identify prospective donors, cultivate, and maintain excellent long-term relationships with them via campaigns and other
outreach initiatives.
● Support and maintain relationships with Wellness Place partners
● Plan for, network, and represent Wellness Place to businesses, service clubs, medical providers, etc.
● Plan and execute annual large multi-level fundraising event, with a large volunteer base.
● Create and implement various cancer support programs including support groups with licensed counselors.
Financial Supervision & Compliance
● Generate annual budgets, timely financial reports, identify anomalies, highlight critical components, present to the board,
and offer potential ideas/solutions.
● Supervise Financial and Accounting functions, including minor monthly data entry into QuickBooks. Working with outside
agencies and the Bookkeeper and Treasurer, manage and report on Wellness Place accounts, tax filings, and other
financial functions.


QUALIFICATIONS:
● Previous experience required in non-profit administration with proven track-record of fundraising skills, including securing
grants and building corporate and individual donor partnerships.

● Strong and focused leadership skills that will energize Wellness Place’s mission.
● Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and relationship building skills.
● Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to manage an unpredictable workflow and flexibility to respond
thoughtfully and timely.
● Experience and proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite and CRM software.
● A track record of cultivating relationships with prospective and existing donors.
● Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating consistently high standards of accuracy and
clarity in written work.
● Strong commitment to our mission and values, and authentic passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
● Spanish language desired, but not required.
